JESTER BALACLAVA PATTERN

About this pattern
The Jester Balaclava is worked by knitting the hood first, then the ribbed neck, followed by the raglan increases, and finally shaping the points or waves — with four variations to choose from.

The pattern is written in one size, but it can be adjusted to fit different head sizes. You’ll find a few measurements throughout to help ensure the hood fits comfortably. For larger heads, you can follow the pattern as written, using larger needles to achieve a looser, scaled-up fit.

Required techniques:
Long tail cast on, knitting in the round, knit, purl, 1x1 or 2x2 ribbing, increasing and decreasing, picking up stitches, bind off at the end of both sides, mattress stitch, slip stitch and single crochet.

APPROXIMATE GAUGE AFTER BLOCKING
10cmx10cm = 12 sts x 18 rows in stockinette stitch using 5.5mm needles.
This can slightly vary (example: 13x19 is also fine!) depending on the yarns you are using and if you are using 6mm needles to purposefully knit it to fit bigger heads.

I would love to see your finished pieces, so if you are comfortable sharing images on social media, please do! And remember to tag/credit me!
