Shell Armour Pattern

This pattern is suitable for advanced beginners and intermediate crocheters. I have tried to explain as best as possible and complement with photos all the steps that are slightly more difficult to follow.
This pattern includes 2 sizes: ‘size 1’ is best fit for head circumferences of around 54-57cm, and ‘size 2' is best fit for head circumferences of 58-62cm.
There are three different styles/lengths that you can choose from. The first one is the bonnet, which ends at around chin length, the second one is a short balaclava, which covers the length of your neck, and the last one is a longer balaclava.
YARN TESTED
- Lana Grossa Brillino (held double) with 4.5mm hook. Use a 5mm hook if you don’t have a 4.5 mm.
You will need two skeins of Brillino to make the bonnet, and 4 skeins to make either balaclavas.
- Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk (one strand only) with 3.5mm hook. Use a 4mm hook if you don’t have a 3.5 mm.
You will need one skein to make the bonnet or the short balaclava, and 2 skeins to make the longer balaclava.
